Community Garden Support Volunteer

Maldon & District Community Voluntary Service are working with ECL, at Chapter House, Maldon to rejuvenate their garden area.

After initially clearing the site, we now intend to build a sensory area, an allotment, plant colourful borders and provide a wildlife/meadow area. 

The garden can then be used by ECL's clients and especially those that use the Older Persons' Day Centre.  ECL hope that the garden will become a Community garden, with those that like to garden, or even those that would like to learn or just potter around, can come and meet and help to shape and maintain the garden. 

We are looking for regular volunteers to support on Tuesday's to help with the general maintenance and upkeep of the  garden space. This could include planting, watering, removing weeds and any other gardening duties as needed. 

Going forward we plan to meet every Tuesday from 10am to 4pm and volunteers can drop in at any time between these hours.

Gardening equipment can be provided but if you have your own favourite gloves, trowel or secateurs then please feel free to bring them along. 

What skills do I need?

You don't have to be a gardener to take part, just keen to have a go and get your hands dirty!
