For CVS Tendring

Register your interest

A team of volunteers are needed to help volunteer in The Community Men's Shed within the Kennedy Way Community Garden. Training and support will be provided by CVST.

The Community Men's Shed is for woodworking and social interaction. The movement originated in Australia around the 1980s to improve men's health and wellbeing. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in providing support to the Community Men Shed mentor. This could be preparing wood, making sure that there are sufficient sundries i.e. nails, glue etc, making sure the machines are working and making items for sale to generate income for the Community Men’s Shed.

The Kennedy Way Community Garden has been regenerated by the NHS Estates Team, working in collaboration with CVS Tendring to help local residents with their physical and mental wellbeing. The garden is a space allowing you to be out in the fresh air, make new friends, learn and share new skills and to be part of the larger community.

The Community Men's Shed is based in the Kennedy Way Community Garden which also has a Community Garden growing both flowers and vegetables, an Outdoor Gym, a seating area and a meeting place for Walking Groups.

As part of making our space inclusive, we aim to be welcoming to anyone who would benefit from the physical, emotional and social benefits of our community garden.
