Social Media Ambassador

The Maeldune Trust seeks to promote the heritage and history of Maldon and are guardians of The Maldon Embroidery. We want to promote an increase in footfall in the centre to help drive up sales but also to make people more aware of what happens inside the Maeldune Heritage Centre. Come and help us raise public awareness for both residents of Maldon and visitors alike.

We are looking for volunteers who are available on Wednedsays, Thursdays or Fridays during term time, from 9.30am – 2.30pm.

Discover Maldon Ambassadors

Discover Maldon Ambassadors will be the first point of contact for local residents and visitors to Maldon in the Visitor Information Centre.

The Ambassador role is to listen carefully to an enquiry and then provide information in response about Maldon and the wider Maldon District and help the public to get the most out of their visit.

Heritage Centre Hosts

Join a friendly volunteer team at Maldon’s Heritage Centre, run by the Maeldune Heritage Trust.

Role includes welcoming and assisting visitors, helping maintain displays and public areas, supporting sales in the gift shop and sharing basic local history (training provided).

Community Supermarket Assistant

Community Supermarkets are community-led initiatives which provide access to nutritious food for a fraction of what the same items would cost in a regular supermarket. They enable people, particularly those on low incomes, to stretch their budgets further each week.

We are looking for volunteers who can help with setting up the space with tables to display the stock, taking payments and keeping simple inventory records, meeting and greeting shoppers and helping with refreshments and creating a welcoming environment.

Schools Service Volunteer

Volunteers visit local primary schools twice a month and run our age-appropriate Speak Out Stay Safe workshops. You’ll work alongside other volunteers to make sure at the end of each session the children feel empowered and know who they can speak out to if they are worried.

Fundraiser

The Sea-Change Sailing Trust operates from Maldon and Heybridge, taking around 200 young people and vulnerable adults each year to live and work aboard a Thames sailing barge.

As part of our succession plan, we are looking for someone to take on the part-time role of fundraiser. You should have experience of fundraising in the charitable sector or be able to demonstrate success in managing complex projects involving people, in which case the right person will receive support as well as appropriate training.
