About

Maldon and District Community Voluntary Service exists to support thriving and strong communities in the Maldon District. The charity was set up in response to a community need for voluntary sector infrastructure support. Our services are designed to support and develop the local voluntary and community sector to thrive for the benefit of local people and the towns and villages they live in.

We also have a focus on embedding good practice within the local sector and inclusion is at the heart of everything we deliver. Maldon and District CVS want to see a strong and connected community where people are supported by a thriving and professional voluntary sector.

We offer a range of services to the local sector including funding and governance advice and information cascade. We also host the districts Volunteer Centre to support more people to get involved in community action in the district and run a range of projects, services and activities to help people to feel well and connected to their communities.

Maldon & District CVS are a service provider which values diversity and inclusivity towards our service users, partners and members regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, race, disability or creed.

Carly Flain

Projects Officer

Carly started with Maldon and District CVS just a few weeks before the first lockdown. During this time whilst working from home, Carly ran many different online weekly zooms to keep people connected. Carly ran online Coffee Mornings for Parents and Children, Bingo, and a General Meet-up to see how people were coping and if there was anything Maldon and District CVS could help them with.

People could see that those who weren’t online at the time missed out on these opportunities and therefore the need for Digital Support in the Community grew!

Carly is happy to say that she is now out in the community where she is happiest. Carly is a complete people person and loves what she does! Carly runs and supports several different groups within the District and helps people with the use of smartphones, tablets, and just generally with anything they need help with online.
