Maldon District Community Response provides one-off emergency support to individuals and families in the District who are in immediate crisis.
Resources include food, childcare and essential household items, cooking equipment, warm packs and other essentials.
We currently cannot support with large items / white goods due to limited funding. We will be focusing on emergency food support and small essential items only at this time.
We can also signpost people to other support services that may be able to help with longer term needs.
We accept self referrals or referrals from professionals.
Referrals will only be monitored during the following times:
Monday – Friday 9:30am-12pm
Any referrals received via our online form or telephone outside of our operational hours will not be picked up until the following working day.
We are not able to provide regular support to individuals, if this is needed please make a member of staff aware so we can signpost or refer you to the most appropriate support services for your needs.
Alternately, you can find out more about other local essential support and services available going to the Maldon District Connects website.
Please note that to comply with data protection if you are referring someone else for support they will need to be aware and have consented to the referral.
If you would like to speak to somebody you can call or text 07526 403340.
To find out about local services, activities and support please also visit the Maldon District Connects website.
Maldon District Connects is an online directory of services and activities that supports residents’ health and wellbeing. People and organisations can use it to find activities and services ranging from green gyms and youth groups, through community venues, to activities supporting specific outcomes such as weight loss or health conditions such as dementia.
This directory is administered by Maldon and District CVS and is part of a wider Mid Essex project to update and replace Essex Connects and Connect Well online directories combining information on organisations and activities and social prescribing in one place. In time it will have the ability to connect to equivalent directories in Chelmsford and Colchester City and Braintree District.
At this point there are over 800 activities listed on the directory and more are being added every day. It has the ability to for you to refer yourself or others to a listed service and request that they get in touch. It also signposts to wider sources of support including Volunteer Essex, Active Essex and the Essex Map. So if you or someone you know needs information on what’s available locally then please take a look.
The directory will be an on-going piece of work with information being added and updated on a continual basis. If you have any feedback or would like to add/ amend information on an activity or activities then please either complete the online Maldon District Connects Activity Form or email admin@maldoncvs.org.uk
