Community Gaming Initiative (CGI)

The Community Gaming Initiative is a youth gaming project run by Maldon and District CVS and funded by the Violence and Vulnerability Unit. The aim of the project is to engage young people whose primary interest is gaming in social activities and give them a space to meet like minded people.

Our Maldon sessions will be held at the Maldon Activity Centre 5-7pm every Friday.

Our Burnham sessions will be held at Burnham Village Hall, every 1st & 3rd Tuesday 5-7pm

Our Tollesbury sessions will be held at Tollesbury Congregational Church every 2nd Wednesday of the month. Here there will be 2 sessions:
5-6.30pm: 11-14 year olds
6.30-8pm: 14-18 year olds

Anyone wanting to regularly attend needs to complete a membership form for CGI. This only needs to be completed once.

Please note that the Friday sessions are predominantly for children aged 11-18. If you have a child younger than this, our Burnham Sessions are for 8+.

On September 15th 2025 we launched our first TeamCraft Together after school programme, bringing the world of Minecraft to life—both on and off the screen. Designed for curious minds and creative thinkers, this immersive experience featured six unique Minecraft-themed clubs, each packed with opportunities to explore, experiment, and grow.

Each session was carefully crafted to promote:

  • Strategic thinking through in-game challenges and puzzles
  • Creative problem-solving with imaginative builds and scenarios
  • Teamwork and communication in collaborative missions
  • Offline skill-building through various activities

This was open to a very limited number of children in Year 3-6.

Keep an eye on our website and social channels for future after school programmes.
