Dementia Friends Awareness Session

Maldon & District CVS are hosting a free Alzheimer’s Society ‘Dementia Friends’ awareness session, which will offer information on some of the issues faced by people living with dementia, their loved ones and carers.

This session will enable attendees to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of dementia and for participants to become a recognised ‘Dementia Friend’.

The talk will be presented by Mark Neville, who is an Essex Dementia Friendly Communities Co-ordinator (DFCC)* for the Alzheimer’s Society and the Co-chair of the Pan Essex Dementia Action Alliance. Mark has worked for 35 years in Health, social care and the third sector. He has been with the Alzheimer’s Society for the past 11 years.

These sessions will be taking place on the following dates:

*The DFCC role is to support organisations, businesses, Health and education providers and communities to have a better understanding of the impact of dementia and how to adjust their services to the needs of people affected by dementia and work together to create ‘Dementia Friendly Communities’.
