Retired in 2020 as Head of Client Services at BNP Paribas Securities Services, following a long career in Financial Services. Previously held a variety of roles covering all aspects of Operations, Control and Governance. Currently working as a volunteer at the local Food Bank.
Following careers in engineering, management consultancy and business coaching Alan retired in 2021. Alan’s latter 12 years coaching was supporting people to overcome the challenges of starting, growing and running sustainable small and medium businesses which is similar to the MDCVS offer to charity and community groups. Alan brings that, and previous experience to bear as a trustee.
Clare McLean has enjoyed living in Maldon for more than 15 years. She was co-opted to the trustee board in 2023 and brings a wealth of experience from her 20-year career in the public sector.
Clare plays a pivotal role in fostering effective data collaboration across the Essex public services. Passionate about promoting a data-driven culture to inform the services public sector organisations design and deliver for communities. Clare advocates for the importance of comprehensive data literacy programmes, to build understanding and confidence working with data.
Clare began her career as an international business journalist, where she successfully launched a range of print media. Her expertise in communications led her to join the award-winning Communications and Marketing team at Colchester City Council 20 years ago, which not only marked the start of her rewarding and fulfilling career in public services but importantly enabled her to discover and build a life in Essex.

Elaine has been a resident of Maldon District for 11 years, having originally moved to the area in 1986. She joined M&DCVS as a trustee after discovering the charity as part of volunteering for her local rural community during covid.
Elaine has worked in the financial services industry for almost 30 years and is currently a Managing Director at Bank of America, having spent 10 years at the bank in various risk, regulatory and governance roles. She is passionate about being able to bring her business skills to support her local community.
