Cafe Volunteer

The Lightship café is a café run for everyone.

The café is run by a mixture of volunteers and employees, all working towards the same goal of ensuring that the facilities at Grays Beach Park are maintained, developed and a welcoming place for all to visit.

As a café volunteer we will provide training to support you in the tasks that you will be carrying out.  Tasks will include (but this is not an exclusive list)

• Greeting users of the cafe
• Setting up furniture for the cafe
• Duties at the splash pad in the summer
• Serving customers
• Preparation of food
• Packaging of food
• Cleaning tasks (including bathroom facilities)
• Litter picking
• Ad hoc tasks
• 
  

There is an opportunity for the volunteer after an agreed time to gain further training and a qualification in Food and Hygiene.  Other volunteering opportunities around the Beach park could also arise throughout the year, which you would be welcome to participate in.
