VAEF Community Clubs is a Befriending Service which aims to provide support, friendship and short respite for informal carers and those living on their own in isolation. We have weekly activity clubs in North Weald, Waltham Abbey and Loughton for older people in the community to attend.

You will find this a very rewarding and fulfilling role as you form a trusting and supportive relationship offering a smile, a listening ear and much needed support. There are roles for club volunteers and volunteers who want to visit a matched person to befriend.

This role can fit around your existing commitments, for as little or as much time as you can offer for one to one befriending.

What skills do I need?

You are friendly, patient and understanding.

You have a sense of humour with good listening skills and life experience,

You are a team player then you will enjoy this opportunity.
