Community Café and Foodhub volunteering opportunites

At the Daily Bread Café and Foodhub at St. Peter’s in Hutton, we always have opportunities for people to volunteer. The Foodhub is open 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday from 10am to 12pm and the Café 4 days, a week, Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 1pm. This is a complex organisation and needs over 250 roles to make it run efficiently. These roles include, cooking light meals in the kitchen, serving in the café, distributing food to people coming to the foodhub, cleaning, taking cardboard waste to the tip and returning crates to the supermarkets. In the evening we have a large team of volunteers who go to a variety of local stores and pick up the food that can’t be sold the next day, returning it to the church where another team of volunteers unpack it and store it in the fridges and freezers ready for the next day.
