The Age Well East Community Companion service is where a client is supported by a Community Companion Befriender volunteer over an 8-12 week period, to help them access their local community. The Community Companion Befriender will attend groups, activities, coffee mornings with the client to help them establish community connections and friendships within their local area.
Age Well East provides full training and a nominated Friendship Coordinator to support the volunteer throughout their volunteering journey.
Volunteers must be happy to provide 2 x character references and have an enhanced DBS check (paid for and arranged by Age Well East).
We are currently looking for volunteers who can support across Thurrock.
Conversation &

new groups/activities, compassion and has patience.
