As a Community Engagement volunteer with Home-Start Essex, you will play a key role in helping us reach new audiences and raise awareness of our work. By building and strengthening relationships within local communities, you’ll help inspire others to support our mission of giving every child the best possible start in life.
There are many ways you can help raise awareness and support for Home-Start Essex in your local area. Depending on your interests and availability, you could:
• Inspire your network – Encourage family, friends, colleagues, and online followers to support our work.
• Promote our charity locally – Put up posters, distribute leaflets, or share fundraising packs in your community.
• Volunteer at events – Support fundraising or community events by helping on promotional stands or engaging with attendees.
• Engage regularly with local groups – Attend community events or groups to connect with people who may want to support us.
• Thank our supporters – Represent Home-Start Essex at cheque presentations or community acknowledgements.
• Use your connections – Approach clubs, groups, or individuals you know to arrange talks or share information about our work.
• Give short talks – Speak to local community groups about Home-Start Essex and how they can get involved.
• Share online – Promote and interact with our messages on social media to help spread the word.
Every conversation, poster, or post helps us reach more families and build stronger community support.
You will be provided with basic training by completing elements of our Volunteer Preparation Course relevant to your role. There will also be opportunities to access ongoing training. Support will be provided by our Fundraising & Marketing Team.
