Day Centre Activity Assistants

Peaceful Place is a day centre for people of working age and older living with dementia.

Our aim is to help our members live their best lives by providing them with activities they can take part in and enjoy.

We are looking for volunteers to assist our members to take part in various activities at our day centre.

Below are just some of the activities we offer to our members:

• Arts & crafts - this can include painting, drawing or making models amongst other activities
• Music therapy - our members take part in a music session with instruments
• Choir - our members take part in singing for a thoroughly enjoyable session
• Yoga - our members take part in a chair yoga session at the day centre
• Gardening - our members take care of the various plants they are growing and take part in making items for the garden and our allotment in Pitsea
• General socialising - we have a lovely garden and day room where our members like to spend time and often just chat and relax.

We would like our volunteers to take a proactive approach and join in the activities with our members.  We are happy for you to specify what activities you would prefer to help with.

If you can spare a few hours a week to help, we would love to hear from you.

We have a friendly and welcoming team here at the Peaceful Place Day Centre and we will support you as a volunteer if you choose to help us.

Sessions will be led by our experienced staff who will provide any training needed.
