Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is the national charity and membership association for limbless serving and ex-service men and women and their dependants.
We help all wounded servicemen and women who have lost limbs, the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support.
Blesma campaigns for our veteran’s rights and looks after individuals and their families by offering a comprehensive grants and welfare system. Rehabilitation, support, counselling, and care are the four principle foundations of our organisation. Together, we can help our men, women and their families face the challenges ahead with renewed confidence and self-belief.
We are looking for Volunteers to help the Fundraising Team at in person fundraising and awareness raising events throughout the UK. We’re a small and friendly team, operating at a regional and national level. We organise Blesma events and collections, attend third party events and support fundraisers doing their own events.
By volunteering with us, you will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of volunteering for a charity and will contribute to our work supporting injured veterans and their families.
The main purpose of this role is to:
- Support the Blesma Fundraising Team at a local and/or regional level throughout the UK to raise money and awareness of the charity
Key tasks you may be able to support:
- Help at external fundraising and awareness raising events such as golf days, Armed Forces Day and Remembrance activities
- Help at Blesma bucket collections in various locations such as railways stations, shopping centres and racecourses
- Support at cheer stations for major events such as the Great North Run and London Marathon
Experience required
Essential
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- A positive attitude to working as part of a small team
Desirable
• An interest in charitable activities.
• An interest in the Armed Forces and/or disability
This is a voluntary position and expenses are paid in accordance to Blesma’s policy.
Location
This role can be anywhere in the UK where Blesma operates. Travel will be required within a designated region to attend fundraising and awareness raising activities.

Hours To be agreed with the volunteer, in accordance with availability. It is hoped that the volunteer may be available at least one day a week.
