Parkrun is run by volunteers – The core team is made up of Run Directors / Event Directors/ volunteer coordinator.
On a weekly basis parkrun require, volunteers
Marshals Acting as eyes on the course to direct runners, look for hazards and encourage participants
Timekeeper Starting the timer and clicking for each runner as they cross the finish line to record their time
Scanner Scanning the finish tokens and a runners barcode to link them together
Finish token hand out Handing out finish tokens to runners as they cross the line
Tail walker the last person on the course ensuring that no one is left behind and making the experience fun
Enthusiasm, a friendly attitude and a willingness to help out, some roles require a smart phone, no prior experience is needed and training is provided on the day, key traits include being on time, keeping calm under pressure, thinking on your feet and common sense
