For Dawn Sailing Barge Trust Ltd

Register your interest

Dawn Sailing Barge Trust is embarking on a major pilot project in partnership with National Lottery Heritage Fund. Our 1897 Thames Sailing Barge will be providing a safe hub for four local ports in Essex over the next 18 months. Due to the increase in the scale of our income we are aware that we would benefit from an experienced financial experienced Trustee.

Each Trustee on our Board brings unique expertise, enhancing our collective efforts and significantly contributing to our DAWN SAILING BARGE family. We are specifically seeking a Trustee with knowledge and experience in Finance, who shares our commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive education.

If you possess expertise in Finance or have a background in the Financial sector and are eager to leverage your skills, enthusiasm, and dedication to positively impact local coastal communities, we would be delighted to hear from you.

To apply: Please contact with Helen Swift at hello@dawntrust.co.uk to make an appointment to discuss the role with our Chairman Robert Lightfoot

Skills

Expertise in Finance or have a background in the Financial sector

What skills do I need?

Expertise in Finance or have a background in the Financial sector is the main quality we are seeking at this time as the Trust embarks on this exciting period of exploration. Absolutely no knowledge of barges, sailing or the water is required for this role but of course you may learn to love this world.

The Trust was formed in 1986 to save the last tiller steered stack barge from a watery grave. We were the first maritime National Lottery Heritage Funded project to complete a rebuild of a Thames Sailing Barge. In 2008 she raced once again in the Blackwater Barge Match.
