Could you give families a lift when they need it most?

Rainbow Trust supports families with a seriously ill child – from diagnosis, through treatment, and, if needed, through bereavement and beyond. By volunteering as a driver, you’ll make sure families can get to vital hospital appointments, school, support groups, and activities that help them feel a little more normal.

For parents under huge strain, knowing transport is taken care of can be an enormous relief.

What you might do:

  • Drive families safely to and from hospital or healthcare appointments
  • Transport siblings to after-school clubs, trips, or activities
  • Help families attend Rainbow Trust support groups and family events

Your commitment:

  • Flexible weekday availability (between 8am–6pm, depending on family needs)
  • Ideally, a regular commitment for at least 12 months, so families can build trust with you

Training & Support:

  • A full induction and essential training (including safeguarding and boundaries)
  • Ongoing one-to-one support and supervision
  • Optional extra training if you’d like to grow your skills further

Why volunteer with Rainbow Trust?

  • Be part of a friendly, welcoming team in a Sunday Times Top 100 Not-for-Profit organisation
  • Know that you’ve played a vital part in helping families through incredibly tough times
  • Gain new skills, meet new people, and enjoy volunteer social events
  • Reimbursement of out-of-pocket travel expenses

Your driving makes the journey easier for families who have enough to worry about.
