Home-Start is a family support service that offers the assistance of another person to offer support to local children and parents during difficult times.
Home-Start is a local Children and Families Charity that works at grass roots, supporting families in their own home and through community group support. The children supported are aged 0- 11 years and volunteers are needed to help support both home visiting and group activities.
Mentors share their expertise to support young people to achieve their goals, supporting them to develop new skills and reach their own aspirations. Mentors come from all walks of life, they are people who wish to share skills to enrich children's lives.
No matter what your age, we are looking at investing training and support to enable you to volunteer and become part of our local Children and Family charity itself part of a network of Home-Start charities across U.K., overseen by Home-Start U.K.
Ideally volunteers will have empathy with children and families.
Any recognised qualification in Early Years, nursing & education would be greatly welcome but we are also looking for people with skills such as cooking, budgeting and crafts.

Volunteers would be expected to commit to 2 hours a week for a minimum of 6 months. Volunteer Preparation Course; Tuesday or Thursday 10am-12pm with commencing on 9th January 2023 running for 4 weeks.
