Volunteer Mentoring opportunities to work one-to-one in schools with young people struggling with confidence, behavior, life choices, wellbeing or mental health
How about starting off the new year on a good note?! Could you spare an hour or two a week to listen to a young person and be a trusted adult role model? Worth Unlimited is a youth work charity, and at the Loughton branch, Spark, we are looking for volunteers from the local community to spare an hour a week to support young people aged 11-23 as part of our mentoring programme. These sessions usually take place within local school settings. Mentoring is an informal way to offer a space to talk and and an opportunity to support a young person's wellbeing, confidence & skills. Mentoring can also be hugely rewarding for the mentor. We are running training courses here at Spark, Loughton Youth Centre, 106 Borders Lane, Loughton IG10 3SB
The ability to relate well to young people. The desire to have the young person’s best interests in mind. An inclusive attitude. Patience and calmness are also desirable. Full training will be given. Volunteers will be DBS checked by Worth Unlimited prior to starting in their role.
Next training day will be in January or February 2026.
