Little LifeSavers charity trains volunteers to deliver their 70 minute, FREE, lifesaving skills sessions to school children in years 5-8. They have taught just over 25,500 children to date (2 of whom have saved a life).
They are looking to increase their volunteer base so that they can start running their free, lifesaving skills sessions in local schools.
By volunteering with them, you can:
- Learn hands only CPR and other crucial lifesaving skills for yourself, then pass on your knowledge on to the next generation.
- Meet likeminded people and make friends OR sign up with friends and have a fun time teaching together.
- Build your confidence and sense of achievement.
- Enhance your CV and future employment prospects.
- Sign up & training is quick and online (approx. 2-3 hours).
- Once you have come through their onboarding process and you have your DBS certificate, you are ready to teach.
- You teach in teams of 3 to groups of up to 60 children.
- Volunteering can work around you and your other commitments- you sign up to the sessions that work for you.
- They are looking for volunteers with enthusiasm, drive and passion to pass on their knowledge to children to help them achieve their goal of creating a 'Nation of LifeSavers'.
- As they are a small charity, they ask their volunteers to be active members of their volunteer community by helping teach sessions/flyer/arrange school sessions/recruit volunteers/engage on social media/fundraise.
- If you would rather just fundraise than teach- this is entirely possible.
