Join Our Monday Walk & Talk Volunteer Team!

Are you passionate about walking and making meaningful connections with others? We’re seeking enthusiastic and community-minded volunteers to lead our weekly  Monday Walk & Talk group, held every Monday from 11.30am at Merrymeade House, Brentwood. By becoming a Walk Leader, you’ll play an essential role in helping people improve their physical and mental well-being through regular activity and social interaction.

Our Walk & Talk group provides a safe and supportive space for participants to stay active while making new friends. Many people rely on this weekly walk as an opportunity to connect with others, get some fresh air, and build healthy habits they might not establish on their own.

As a Walk Leader, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading and motivating a friendly group of walkers along a set route
  • Ensuring that participants feel welcome, supported, and encouraged
  • Fostering conversation among the group to make everyone feel included
  • Offering gentle guidance and ensuring safety during the walk
  • Attending a short, informative ‘Health Walk Leader’ training course (no previous experience required)

Why Volunteer? By joining our Walk & Talk group, you’ll be helping to improve the lives of local residents—providing both physical exercise and social interaction that can be vital for their overall well-being. You’ll also get to enjoy regular outdoor walks, meet new people, and contribute to a healthier, more connected community. It’s a simple but powerful way to make a difference!
