The principle role of the volunteer will be to give people the opportunity to benefit from physical exercise and the therapeutic advantages of growing and planting on a BRAND NEW community allotment, based in Walton. Importantly, it also makes people more aware of the advantages of fresh produce and can therefore help to improve their lifestyle and well being.
There is increasing evidence that gardening is very beneficial for mental health issues as well as the more obvious physical activity attribute. This is a new allotment and we would like to build a team of volunteers to get this activity started, therefore days & times are flexible.
If this is something you would like to get involved in or simply would like to have more information then please call about the project can telephone CVS Tendring on 01255 425692/01255 425770 and ask for the HILL team.
Be friendly, enthusiastic and positive, with a love of the outdoors.
Some knowledge of growing produce is beneficial but not essential.
Friendly and welcoming to new people who also want to help with the new community allotment.
