We run a youth club twice a week and we need adults to come along and make sure our members are safe while they are at the club. You don’t need to do too much – replenish the biscuits and juice, tie some knots during crafting sessions, help with making cookies etc. You will need to be prepared to lend an ear when one is needed (to the members and the other volunteers) and a sense of humour and some patience is always a good thing to have. We do arrange activities for our members and these are often outside of club times so some flexibility would be welcome.
You don’t need any particular skills but our members are aged between 7 and 17 so a variety of interests and knowledge is a good thing. The older ones listen to music and often just want to chat, the younger ones like to play games, do arts and crafts and cooking. You need to be enthusiastic and motivated to talk and engage with young people.
