Maldon & District Community Voluntary Service are working with ECL, at Chapter House, Maldon to rejuvenate their garden area.

We are looking for regular volunteers to support on Wednesday’s to help with the general maintenance and upkeep of the  garden space. This could include planting, watering, removing weeds and any other gardening duties as needed.

Discover Maldon Ambassadors will be the first point of contact for local residents and visitors to Maldon in the Visitor Information Centre.

The Ambassador role is to provide information about Maldon and help the public to get the most out of their visit.

The Maeldune Trust is a registered charity which exists to advance the education of the public in the history and heritage of Maldon, Essex and East Anglia. The Maeldune Heritage Centre is run by the Maeldune Trust in partnership with Maldon Town Council.

They are currently looking for a new trustee to increase their board diversity. They are looking for someone who has experience in advertising and fundraising.

The Lunch Club@ Plantation Hall is a planned weekly lunch club for mainly older people who are socially isolated.

Volunteer Cooks are needed to help out at the club by preparing / cooking Homestyle meals at each session.

Typical meals include – Sausage & Mash, Cottage pie, Casseroles etc.

An Independent Visitor is an adult volunteer who spends a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday, once a month, supporting children and young people who are living in care. An IV builds a friendship with a young person who would benefit from regular contact.

Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5K walking/running/volunteering event. The event is organised entirely by volunteers and there are a number of different roles that you can try as a volunteer. The main tasks performed by tailwalker is to be a friendly face or faces, who stay right at the back of the field and to be the last to go through the finish funnel, ensuring that everyone is accounted for.

The main tasks performed by Marshals are guiding, interacting and encouraging the participants around the course, warning them of any obstacles or hazards, alerting the Run Director to any incidents, as well as ensuring that other park users are aware of the event.
