Following the success of our Social Supermarket in Southminster and Burnham-on-Crouch, Maldon and District CVS are pleased to announce 2 pilot sessions in Heybridge. These sessions will be at 99 Wood Road, Heybridge, CM9 4AS, which with support from Maldon District Council, we have secured the lease for.
These sessions will take place on Wednesday 12th and 26th November 10.30am – 12pm.
Following its initial launch in September 2024, the Social Supermarket has steadily grown by consistently providing affordable food options to residents throughout the area. The Maldon District Social Supermarket offers local residents the chance to buy a weekly shop at a fraction of regular supermarket prices.
This is open to everyone – no referral is required. Please bring your own shopping bags to carry your items.
Maldon and District CVS have been working alongside Essex County Council and Maldon District Council to develop the project, this support includes funding as part of the Community Supermarket Initiative and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Funding has also been provided by the Nuclear Decommissioning Agency.
