An Accredited Museum and award winning visitor attraction, Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is a charity and the largest surviving Great War aerodrome in Europe.

The museum is a centre for volunteering and with the assistance of over 100 volunteers we deliver a wide range of educational and fundraising events each year that are designed to appeal to families, aviation enthusiasts, historians, school parties and other youth groups.

We also open to the public most weekends throughout the year.

We are looking for volunteers to keep our buildings and surrounding grounds safe and looking their best for our visitors

Volunteers undertake a wide range of tasks throughout the year including:

  • Upkeep of machinery and motor vehicles
  • We also have a large wildlife area and an allotment garden that require regular attention

We have many volunteers on site.
Some have specific skills and experience relating to the above tasks, but this is not essential.
