Whether it is holding a person’s hand or providing an in-house activity such a music or arts and crafts, we'd love for you to come and join us in our registered care home where your input and care will be very well welcomed!
We are looking for volunteers who would like to befriend our residents on a regular basis.
Our residents enjoy interaction by having conversations over a nice cuppa.. You may even have common interests in music, activities or sense of humour. They enjoy some arts and crafts or games like darts; we even have a Wii with various games to play. They enjoy baking; some enjoy being read to, using computer or simply watching films and having the company with them.
You would not be replacing existing staff, you will be a valued asset to the home. We are not expecting you to undertake any personal care, staff will ALWAYS be available to fulfil these tasks so don't worry!
We would ensure that you are given the necessary knowledge about our residents, respecting confidentiality so you feel comfortable and safe. We would welcome any feedback when you are volunteering. We want this to be a positive experience for everybody.
The only qualification you will need is to be caring and patient with our residents who have a learning disability. Lots of kindness is all we are asking for!
