Driver Client Coordinator Ongar and Villages

ABOUT YOU:

Have you some spare time on your hands to make or receive telephone calls in your own home? Do you want to make a real difference in your community to clients who are frail and in need of transport to a medical appointment?

ABOUT US:

Ongar and Villages Voluntary Care are a caring group of volunteers aiming to relieve situations of need by coming to the aid of people in Ongar and the surrounding villages that are served by Ongar Doctors. We transport on average 10 clients to appointments each week.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

Coordinator Volunteers who can match volunteer driver availability to clients transport request. Coordinators are on duty for a week at a time and in a rota over three months.

We also have vacancies for telephone volunteers to take calls on one afternoon or morning a week from their own home when the projects helpline number is diverted to their home. Your role is to take information from clients and inform the coordinator who will allocate drivers.

What skills do I need?

No special skills needed.

Enthusiasm and commitment are very welcome qualities.
