Fundraising Cash Counter

For St Francis Hospice

To support the Fundraising team with the counting of cash (mainly coin) collected in via collection boxes, Events and large cash donations. As well as to help us organise donated foreign currency, so it can be banked. You will be working with another volunteer as part of a team, in line with hospice strategy.

Main Tasks:

•Counting cash (coins) using a sorting machine.

•Remove foreign currency and non-circulated currency from the cash donations.

•Completing paperwork relating to each cash donation.


What skills do I need?

Essential requirements:  

•Ability to travel to and from the Hospice
•Experience of cash counting in a paid or voluntary role

Skills and Experience: 
•Able to follow clear instructions and work unsupervised.  
•Ability to embrace change and a willingness to lend a hand in a variety of tasks.   
•Experience of working in a busy, lively and (on occasion) noisy environment.   

Personal Qualities:
•Ability to use own initiative
•Good organisation and administration skills  
•Friendly, professional and approachable manner.

Availability Details

When / Where: Fundraising department. Minimum 3-4 hours weekly Mon-Wed or Fri. Hours to be agreed with Volunteer Supervisor.
