Led by Autistic individuals and compassionate allies, we draw on lived experience to provide support at every stage of an Autistic person's life. Offering both mental health and material support to Autistic individuals and Carers, our profound commitment is to make a positive impact in the autistic community. We are currently looking for committed Volunteers to join our team and contribute to achieving our goals.

Role Description:
We are actively seeking committed Volunteers for our monthly pop-up Community Cafés in Grays. Join our team and play a crucial role in helping us achieve our mission. Tasks may include:

  • Set up and clear up the rooms before and after sessions.
  • Welcome and engage with attendees during the sessions.
  • Attend to the needs of participants during sessions.
  • Help prepare refreshments.
  • Monitor the entrance and greet people as they come in.
  • Ensure the safety of vulnerable people and children.

What skills do I need?

The ideal volunteer will be:

  • Friendly and approachable with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about community engagement and creating a positive social atmosphere.
  • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to agreed-upon shifts.
  • Work collaboratively in a team and adapt to a dynamic environment.

Previous experience in hospitality or event support is a plus but not required.

Availability Details

First Sunday of every month. The event runs between 2pm - 4pm, but we ask that our volunteers be available from 1.45 - 4.15pm.
