An Accredited museum and award winning visitor attraction, Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is a charity and the largest surviving Great War aerodrome in Europe.

We are looking for people to become part of a small team helping to preserve the objects at the museum for generations to come. 

We have a growing collection that needs to be catalogued, cared for and displayed. As an Accredited museum, we need to do this to a high standard. 

Our Objects team do everything from carefully cleaning objects to preparing displays – and all the paper work that goes with it.

Full training will be given for this role.

What skills do I need?

Could this role be perfect for you?       

  • An interest in Great War history including aviation, social history and objects of the period and the curiosity to search for more information.
  • Willing to undertake research using computer resources
  • Good computer skills in order to maintain our Objects Catalogue.

Availability Details

For this role the site is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year. Volunteers are asked to attend site regularly. Half day and full day working is available. Please note that when attending site you will need to have personal transport for travel to site as we are not on public transport routes.
