Register your interestWe are looking for volunteers who can assist us in the opening and manning of rest centres as and when they are required. You will be helping those people evacuated from their homes due to an emergency. This will involve meeting and greeting attendants, providing assistance to people with specific needs, registering of those attending the rest centre and other duties
This opportunity is flexible. Online (zoom) training courses will cover the theory of rest centres and disaster management, background in recovery from a disaster, survivor needs.
Once trained you will be kept informed of relevant information and further training
Listening, patience and dedication. Ability to comfort and console. Willingness to provide quick and efficient help within the realm of capability, ability to work well with in a team and to work under direction. possess organisational skills and the ability to work with other agencies.
