We require volunteers to make a difference with local youth in Rowhedge! Volunteering at Rowhedge Youth Club is not just about giving back; it's a gateway to personal growth and community connection. By dedicating just one afternoon a week, you can ignite a spark of change in the lives of local young people. The club is a vibrant hub where dodgeball, air hockey, and rounders are more than games—they're tools for teaching teamwork and sportsmanship. As a volunteer youth worker, we encourage you to take part in all the activities our club has to offer.

Cooking sessions inspire responsibility and creativity, and supporting young people who enjoy taking a lead in managing the club and the tuck shop offers real-world experience. Specialised activities like DJ workshops open doors to new passions and potential career paths. As a volunteer, you'll be part of a dynamic environment where every skill you share helps to engage young people. You'll gain as much as you give, developing transferable skills that resonate beyond the club's walls. Being a volunteer with Essex Youth Service can build your confidence, help you to make new friendships, and we can help you to obtain a nationally recognised qualification in Youth Work. Essex Youth Service values the unique contribution of each volunteer, knowing that it's your energy and willingness that can truly make a difference. Come and join us and be a part of something bigger, where every moment spent is a step toward a brighter future for our young people.

You will: • Meet new people • Use your existing skills in a meaningful way • Gain transferable skills • Build your confidence and more. • Gain a qualification in Youth Work if requested. Essex Youth Service greatly appreciate the support and contribution of volunteers. They bring fresh ideas, positive energy and are motivated with a can do and willing attitude.

What skills do I need?

Experience is useful, but not essential as you will work alongside youth workers who will support you to develop the skills you need. We offer training to all volunteers including intro to youth work, safeguarding level 1 and level 2, and an option to do a nationally recognised qualification.
