Scouts UK – Volunteer Beaver Leader

Are you enthusiastic, caring and creative? 12th Clacton Scout group are looking for another Beaver leader to help run unit nights for an hour and a half on Wednesdays. The Beavers are boys and girls aged 6 to 8 years old and we are looking for the right candidate to implement a full and varied program of learning, fun and skills for life along with the rest of the volunteer team. What skills do I need?

You do not need previous experience – training and support are provided. However, the following skills and qualities are helpful:

Communication & People Skills

· Good with children

· Friendly and approachable

· Able to talk to members of the public confidently

· Good listening skills

Teamwork

· Works well with other volunteers

· Willing to follow instructions and support others

Organisation & Reliability

· Arrives on time and completes tasks

· Can follow simple procedures

· Helps keep events running smoothly

Practical Skills

· Able to help with basic physical tasks (setting up tables, moving boxes, etc.)

· Can handle registers, instruction sheets and simple admin tasks

Personal Qualities

· Positive and helpful attitude

· Respectful to people from all backgrounds

· Calm and flexible in busy environment.
