Signposting Volunteers - Belle Vue and Westcliff

We are looking for some volunteers to join our team as Signposting Volunteers at our local Distribution Centres in Belle Vue on Tuesdays afternoons, or at Westcliff on Wednesday afternoons. Signposters listen to guests and identify any other issues they may need support with and help to point them in the right direction where they can find further support.

You will be supporting others in your local community, beyond their need for food. You will have the satisfaction that you have helped someone and made a difference, even if only by listening.

Signposters are an important part of the Southend Foodbank team and we need you to play a vital role in ensuring that people coming to the Foodbank feel cared for and supported.

What skills do I need?

Signposters needs to be comfortable approaching guests to open conversations and have a listening ear, with good communication skills; training will be provided on signposting information.
