Social Media Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to assist museum staff in monitoring trending hashtags on the Museum social media sites, as well as researching and compiling content for blog updates and social media.

Duties to include:

• researching popular social media trends and hashtags.
• researching and compile content for social media and blog updates.
• resizing and editing digital images for social media and website use.

The museum society our charitable wing are also looking for volunteers who would be willing to be their administrator/editor for their Facebook page, and also looking for someone to help them by taking notes at their monthly local history talks at the Parish rooms, for review in their quarterly newsletter.

What skills do I need?

• Good ICT skills
• Experience of creating content for digital platforms is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge and experience of using social media. 
• A demonstrable interest in social history, archaeology or natural history
• Strong written communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience of working both within a small team and independently
• Confidence to contribute and shares ideas and new perspectives
  
• Able to work to set guidelines
• Awareness and understanding of internet security issues.
