We are urgently seeking a motivated individual holding a C1
driving licence to ensure that the SOS Bus is in pristine condition at all times
by undertaking checks to ensure the vehicle is in working order. You will drive
the SOS Bus to the required location, and support the team as an ambassador to
the service, before returning the vehicle at the end of the day.
This opportunity is to volunteer for vibrant local charity, Open Road who support vulnerable people in local Essex communities. This vacancy is to drive and maintain the Chelmsford Safer Communities and SOS Bus, which supports local night time economies and daytime welfare projects. This role is done under the direction of the SOS Buses Co-ordinator and promotes the functions of the projects.

Volunteers drivers would join a drivers’ pool, who provide cover weekdays AM and PM concerning the bus supporting community projects (based on their availability). Volunteer drivers also drive the bus to its Chelmsford city locations for the weekend SOS community services all through the year (based on their availability): Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and evenings and Sunday mornings.
