  • Help shape the college’s vision, values, and strategic direction, ensuring alignment with community learning and inclusion goals.
  • Contribute to long-term planning, including the Three-Year Strategy and Skills Devolution, and discussions on financial sustainability and investment priorities.
  • Review reports, audits, and performance data to promote transparency, value for money, and effective use of public funds.
  • Support high standards in teaching, curriculum design, inclusion, safeguarding, and learner support, using feedback and achievement data to monitor progress.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation in adult education and advocate for learning opportunities across Thurrock.
  • Act as an ambassador for the College, fostering partnerships with employers, voluntary organisations, and other education providers.
  • Attend Governing Body meetings (around 8 per year) and sub-committees, preparing by reviewing relevant papers in advance.
  • Uphold the Nolan Principles of Public Life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and leadership.

Please note, this is based at The Old Courthouse, Grays.
