Exciting opportunity has arisen as a shop assistant in our Witham and Braintree Community Hubs. 

Customer Service — Greeting customers, offering assistance, answering questions, and ensuring everyone feels valued and supported.

Till Operation — Processing sales accurately, handling cash/card payments, and maintaining a tidy checkout area.

Stock Management — Sorting, pricing, and preparing donated items; rotating stock to maintain a fresh and appealing shop floor.

Visual Merchandising — Creating attractive displays that encourage sales and reflect seasonal themes or campaigns.

Shop Floor Support — Keeping the shop clean, organised, and safe; restocking shelves; assisting with back‑room tasks.

Team Collaboration — Working closely with other volunteers and staff, communicating effectively, and supporting a positive team environment.

Promoting the Charity’s Mission — Sharing information about the charity’s purpose and encouraging customer engagement with campaigns or fundraising activities.


What skills do I need?

Friendly and approachable with a genuine desire to help others

Reliable and organised, able to follow shop procedures

Good communication skills and comfortable interacting with the public

Team‑focused, supportive, and adaptable

Basic numeracy for handling payments
