Calling Volunteers!
Gardening and/or Meeter and Greeter - is this you?
A team of volunteers are needed
to help care for the garden with the different gardening projects. Training and
support will be provided by CVST.
The Kennedy Way Community Garden has been regenerated by the NHS Estates Team, working in collaboration with CVS Tendring to help local residents with their physical and mental wellbeing. The garden is a space allowing you to be out in the fresh air, make new friends, learn and share new skills and to be part of the larger community.
The Community space has a
Community Garden growing both flowers and vegetables, a Men's Shed, an Outdoor
Gym, a seating area and a meeting place for Walking Groups.
As part of making our space
inclusive, we aim to be welcoming to anyone who would benefit from the
physical, emotional and social benefits of our community garden.
The vegetable beds, comprising of raised beds and in the ground has been designed to be able to provide herbs and vegetables. There are also flower areas to try to encourage interest from all gardeners and to create a space that has colour and fragrance to aid relaxation. As a volunteer, you are welcome to take home and share any produce grown.
Interested? Register your
interest on www.volunteeressex.org or
call CVST on 01255 425692 and ask for Nicky.
As a volunteer, we would like you to be able to:
Welcome new members with a
smile and make them feel welcome and comfortable
Ideally have a
knowledge of sowing, nurturing and harvesting vegetables and flowers
Engage with local residents to
let people know about the community garden
Share gardening skills
Have a non-judgemental and
positive attitude
Show new comers around and
explain what activities are available to them.
