This role involves supporting homebound older adults aged 60+ to develop essential digital skills that help them reconnect with the world. Volunteers provide one-to-one guidance on using devices, browsing the internet, booking appointments, shopping online, and staying in touch with family through video calls. By helping clients access online social groups, vital services such as the NHS app, and digital communication tools, Digital Friends play a key role in reducing isolation and increasing independence. Volunteering with Age Well East gives older adults the confidence to engage with their community and regain meaningful connections through technology. Age Well East provides full training, along with ongoing support from a nominated Friendship Coordinator throughout the volunteering journey.
You don\'t need to be a technical expert for this role. What matters most to us is your ability to connect with people, demonstrate patience and kindness, and have a genuine passion for helping others. We will provide all the training and resources you need to carry out this role.
