Friendship (In support of anxiety) Café
The café offers a safe and supportive environment to listen and share experiences with others attending, get to hear from speakers about local services, make new friends, enjoy a cup of tea and a biscuit and generally socialise with other people.
The sessions provides useful information, the opportunity if willing to share life experiences and local organisations are invited in to give a talk about services which may be of interest. Members can get involved in organising the weekly café and outings.
This role involves:
Setting up room with relevant leaflets;
Setting up chairs, tables, cloths and ensuring ease of access.
The volunteer would ideally have experience of dealing with people who may feel anxious and/or isolated. The role will not involve counselling.
Full induction training will be provided, along with the opportunity for further training courses when available
Kind, patient and non judgemental attitude to others needed.
Be reliable and committed to the success of the group to benefit the community
Volunteers are requested to commit for a minimum period of 6 months.
