Are you passionate about protecting children and young adults in the digital world? Do you believe that knowledge is power, especially when it comes to staying safe online? We are looking for confident, compassionate volunteers to become Online Awareness Ambassadors as part of our Safe and Smart Online campaign. You will deliver vital awareness training to the community, helping parents, young people, and professionals understand how to stay safe and informed in an increasingly complex online world.
About Every Child Online
Every Child Online is a UK charity tackling digital poverty and online risk by supplying refurbished technology to children and young adults who need it most. We believe every child deserves access to the digital world, not just for learning and connection, but with the tools to navigate it safely.
But access is not enough. With growing threats like cyberbullying, grooming, scams, and online exploitation, education around digital safety is more important than ever.
That is why we launched Safe and Smart Online, our awareness and training initiative aimed at schools, parents, youth groups, and community organisations.
What you will get from us • Full training on our Safe and Smart Online material • Online safety resources, presentations, handouts, and merchandise • Travel expenses covered • Opportunities to make a real, measurable difference • Support from a welcoming, driven team who are passionate about inclusion and safety • The satisfaction of knowing you are directly helping to safeguard children and young people.
As a volunteer Online Awareness Ambassador
We would like you to: • Deliver pre-prepared training sessions at schools, at our tech giveaway days, local fairs, charity events, and other community venues • Help children, young adults, and parents understand the dangers of the online world, including predators, scams, unsafe content, and harmful behaviours • Empower people to protect themselves online, use technology responsibly, and ask for help when needed • Represent Every Child Online at events and promote our wider mission of digital inclusion and safety.
You might speak at: • School assemblies or classroom visits • Parent awareness sessions during our tech giveaway events • Meetings or training days for device recipients • Other local charities or services working with young people • Community events, fairs, or drop-in sessions.
The impact you will make: Volunteering your time as an Online Awareness Ambassador could be life-changing for the people you meet. With your help, children will learn how to avoid danger. Parents will gain confidence to protect their families. Young adults will be equipped to spot scams, avoid manipulation, and protect their data. Online harm is real but together, we can reduce the risk.
What we are looking for: • Confident, approachable speakers (public speaking experience ideal but not essential) • Passion for child safety, digital wellbeing, and online education • Comfortable working with different audiences (young people, parents, professionals) • DBS check (we can support this if needed) • Based in Essex or willing to travel locally • Reliable, enthusiastic, and ready to make a difference!
