Hamelin supports autistic people and people with learning disabilities to live their best lives and cultivate compassionate, equitable communities where they can realise their dreams.
Role Description:
We are looking for a volunteer to support a staff member who will be supporting a gentleman with learning disabilities.
The role will involve supporting on trips out in the community, e.g. lunch, shopping, visiting museums and swimming.
The volunteer will be required every Wednesday, between 09.00am and 15.00pm, however half days will be considered.
Trips out will leave and return from the Hamelin centre in Billericay.
Volunteers must be 18 years and older.
Volunteers will be subject to an
enhanced DBS check, receive training, regular support and supervision, and
celebratory social events. Expenses will also be reimbursed.
The volunteer WILL NOT BE responsible for any personal care needs: This includes complex manual handling, dressing, feeding or administrating any medication. There will always be a trained member of staff with you at all times.
Previous experience of learning disabilities, epilepsy and first aid are required.
Open to people from all backgrounds.
