We are looking for a Dementia Friendly Gardening Volunteer who is willing to work and support those living with dementia at a weekly activity group. 3 hours per week every Thursday 09.30 – 12.30. All year round. Activities could include, potting, weeding, sweeping and keep a designated Dementia Friendly Gardening area tidy. Work with other community groups such as Men’s Shed and Arts and Crafts to produce items for people to take home or use as fundraising items.
An interest/understanding of people living with dementia – training will be provided
Clear and sensitive communication skills
You do not need a horticultural qualification but having some experience of maintaining a garden or allotment would be desirable
Reliable and happy to work in a team
